or own a house or apartment, i think we’ve all had an occasion where there’s been a hole in a wall that’s needed to be patched due to some accidental puncture, decorating change, or renovation issue. I know i’ve definitely patched a few in my time, and i usually use these patch kits (they come in different sizes) to patch over the hole.

ly working on renovating our new mid-century home and we have a few drywall projects to do around the house. My mom reminded me of a story from when i was little where a carpenter neighbor helped patch a hole in our childhood bedroom.

Search for a project
If you conduct your research and obtain references, you should have no problem avoiding any potential scam operations.
Do not proceed with any drywall repair or paint company that refuses to issue a written contract that contains the full details of the project.
There have been other tips i’ve come across that i haven’t yet tried myself, but am open to trying now that i’m on the last room i need to fix (for a while, i hope). Chris from picardy project recommends a
most anyone can patch drywall. Most drywall repair consists of fixing dents, nail and screw holes, cracks and popped nail heads. This type of damage is minor and can be taken care of quickly and easily. For small issues, here’s how to fix a hole in a wall or repair dents: fill dents and tiny holes with lightweight spackle using your finger or a putty knife. Make sure the spackle completely fills the dent or hole and is level with the rest of the wall. Allow the spackle to dry for 15 to 30 minutes or the time recommended by the manufacturer.
Using the right tools is crucial to getting the job done correctly. There are some essential tools that every repairer needs on hand, including sanding sponges, a mud pan, a putty knife, joint compound, and drywall patch kits. If you are repairing minor dents or scratches that are smaller than ½ inch, use a thin layer of joint compound to fill them. Apply the material using a 3- or 4-inch putty knife designed for drywall repair. If the cracks or holes are bigger, you will need to reinforce them with mesh before spackling.
